PleaseproperlydisposeofthebatteryinanyoftheCalAmpproductsthatutilizeone,donotjustthrowused
batteries,replacedbatteries,orunitscontainingabackupbatteryintothetrash.Consultyourlocalwaste
managementfacilityforproperdisposalinstructions.
3.1.3EnvironmentalSpecifications
TheLMU42x0™isdesignedtooperateinenvironmentstypicallyencounteredbyfleetvehicles,including
widetemperatureextremes,voltagetransients,andpotentialinterferencefromothervehicleequipment.
Toensureproperoperationinsuchanenvironment,theLMU42x0™wassubjectedtostandardtestsdefined
bytheSocietyofAutomotiveEngineers(SAE).Thespecifictestsincludedtemperature,shock,vibration,and
EMI/EMC.Thesetestswereperformedbyindependentlabsanddocumentedinadetailedtestreport.In
accordancewithAppendixAofSAEJ1113Part1,theUnitisconsidereda“FunctionalStatusClassB,
PerformanceRegionII”systemthatrequiresThreatLevel3Testing.
ThefollowingshowstheenvironmentalconditionstheLMUisdesignedtooperateinandtherelevantSAE
teststhatwereperformed.Noformalaltitudetestswereconducted.
