Managing security
Configuring user accounts
Perform this task to ensure that user access to the ODU is controlled in accordance
with the network operator’s security policy. The following user account options may be
configured:
Best practice passwords.
Auto logout period.
Maximum number of login attempts.
Login attempt lockout period.
Password expiry period.
Minimum password change period.
Identity-based user accounts.
NOTE
To ensure that the ODU is compliant with the security requirements of FIPS
140-2, the above options must all be enabled. For more information, refer to
Configuring FIPS 140-2 mode on
page 6-108.
If identity-based user accounts are enabled, this task may only be performed by a
Security Officer.
To set these options, proceed as follows:

From the left hand menu, select User Accounts. The User Accounts page is
displayed (Figure 6-50).

Review and update the user accounts attributes (
Table 6-9).

If any attributes have been updated, select Submit User Account Updates.
