Operating Mode:
There are two operating mode for the Wireless USB Adapter,
Infrastructure mode and Ad-Hoc mode. If you choose Infrastructure
mode, the WLAN USB Adapter will connect to an Access Point, and
if you choose Ad-Hoc mode, then the Wireless USB Adapter will
connect to a wireless station directly.
Channel:
It shows radio channel numbers that used for WLAN networking.
The channel number can be set only under the Ad-Hoc operation
mode. In Ad-Hoc mode stations, each station must have the same
channel numbers and SSID.
In Infrastructure mode, the Wireless USB Adapter will automatically
detect the channel number of the Access Point.
SSID:
The SSID differentiates one WLAN group name from another, so all
access points and all devices attempting to connect to a specific
WLAN group name must use the same SSID. A device will not be
permitted to join the BSS unless it can provide the unique SSID.
Remain the SSID blank, it will detect the strongest signal from the AP.
Tx Rate:
You can choose one of the transmission rates as follows, 11Mbps,
5.5Mbps, 2Mbps, 1Mbps, and Auto. The Auto will automatically
detect the suitable linking transfer rate and auto fall back when the
signal is not too strong to transmit data, it will auto fall back from
11Mbps to 5.5Mbps, 2Mbps and 1 Mbps.
