First Steps Power on Turn on the device on the backside (ON). System will start automatically. Installation (Quick) There are different ways to install the unit in your vehicle. The easiest way is to use the goose neck with suction cup and to power the unit with the spiral cable to the cigar jack. So you may install and use the system within few minutes. HINT In case of non-usage for a longer period, it is recommended to turn off the device to avoid total discharge of the battery.
Launcher Menu After booting the launcher menu will appear. From here you may start any available function. Navigation The functionality of the navigation software is described separately. Manuals are available on CD/ DVD. Movies If an external A/V source or a rear view camera is connected, please use this function for viewing. Compass Play digital movie clips or recorded movies from SD card. Music With the help of the GPS signal you can use this function as electronic compass or speedometer.
Play Back of Video Files ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ ⑥ The Video Player enables you to play back movies on SD card. It is compatible to various formats/ codeces. Display ⑦ ⑧ ⑨ ⑩ ⑩ Exit: Return to main menu. File Listing ① Taskbar: disappears automatically at play back, pops up after touching the screen. ② ③ ④ ⑤ ⑥ / Start/pause of play back Stop Jump back to last video file. Play Back of Music ⑩ ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ The Music Player enables you to play back music files on SD card. It is compatible to various formats/ codeces(.ogg, .wav and .wma). Display ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ / Start/pause of play back ⑦ ⑧ ⑨ ⑩ RPT Select play back mode NMR Each title will be played once 1 The current title will be repeated ALL All titles will be repeated SFL Shuffle play back. Photo Album ⑦ ⑦ ① ② The electronic photo album is ideal for travelling or visitng friends. Various file formats are supported (.jpg and .bmp). Display ① Slideshow Timer: Each image will be shown for the time set. (3, 5 and 7 sec.
Play Back of an External A/V Source ⑥ ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ The AV-In function enables you to watch external sources, i.e. DVD-Player, SAT-Receiver, etc. HINT Display ① AV/RV Select video input: AV AV-input RV Rear view camera input ② Mute on/off without changing the basic volume settings. ③ Rear View Camera ON/OFF If this is ON, the system will automatically switch into AV-mode, when the camera is activated. ④ Taskbar disappears automatically at play back, pops up after touching the screen.
Connecting a Rear View Camera (Option) ⑥ ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ The AV-In function can be used as full video rear view system, too Functionality Please connect the optional multicable to the device and a compatible rear view camera. (Page 25) Activate ON ③ for rear view camera input and connect the red cable to the +12V supply of the back light. When shift into rear gear the camera will be activated and the system will go into [AV-In] mode automatically.
Compass ⑤ ① This function shows current speed and altitude based on the GPS signal. Display ① Compass: Shows north direction ② Altimeter: Shows current altitude above sea level (Normal Null) ③ Tachometer: Option between MPH and Km/H ④ Speedometer: Shows current velocity. ⑤ Exit: Return to main menu. HINT These values are calculated from the GPS signal. In some cases the system requires some seconds to few minutes for getting reliable results.
Settings In the settings menu you can adopt the system to your personal habit. Volume / Brightness Adjust brightness and volume. Power Setting Optimize the system to get maximum power safe results. Start Setting Select the start-up application after power-on. Factory�������� Setting Reset unit to factory settings and values. Calibration Adjust the touch screen. Time Zone Set time zone and adjust date/time. Language Select your preferred language for the unit.
Volume and Brightness ④ ①② Adjust basic volume and brightness. Display ① System Volume Use +/- for adjustment ② AV Volume Use +/- for adjustment ③ System Brightness Use +/- for adjustment ④ Exit: Return to main menu.
Power Settings ④ ① ② ③ Optimize the system to your personal usage. Display ① Timer for sleep mode Activate/deactivate the timer that can be adjusted by +/-. If you do not use the system for this time, the system will go down to sleep mode. HINT The battery lifetime depends on the usage of the system, i.e. listening to pure music, watching video or navigating. Also volume and brightness have a huge affect on power consumption.
Start Settings ④ ①② ③ Set up the start-up application of your device after a cold start. HINT Display ① Start with specific application After switching-on (ON/OFF) the selected application will be started automatically: Navigation/Music/Movie/AV-IN/Photo Album ② Start with last application After a complete re-start the device will start the last used application. ③ Start with main menu (default) The system will show main menu after reboot. ④ Exit: Return to main menu.
Factory Settings ③ ① ② Reset the device to factory settings. Display ① Set Default All values will return to default values, this will require a re-boot of the system. HINT The navigation software is not affected by this. All values and settings will remain. ② Cancel This will cancel the operation like the Exit button. ③ Exit: Return to main menu.
Calibration ② ① Please run the calibration, if you have the feeling that the touchscreen does not react exactly to your commands. HINT Display ① Blue mark Follow the instructions on the screen and touch the moving cross mark. The process wil be continued until all 5 positions are properly fixed. If finished a countdown of 5 secs will exit into menu. 20 EN This procedure cannot be cancelled and must be passed most accurately.
Time Zone ④ ① ② ③ Select your time zone and/or adjust date and time. Activate/deactivate daylight saving option. Display ① Time Zone Select your local time zone. HINT If time zone is correctly set, the internal clock will automatically adjusted by the GPS signal. Normally a manual correction is not needed. ② Day/Night Mode The system will reduce the screen brightness according to daytime. ③ Date And Time Adjustment. Use +/- for correction of the relative segment.
Language ② ① HINT Display ① Language You may select among those eight languages. ② Exit: Return to main menu. 22 EN The navigation software is not affected by this. All values and settings will remain. Language is to be changed within the navigation software itself.
