Appendix A. Quick Start
The quick start section describes setting up a camera to a CR800, CR850,
CR1000, or CR3000 datalogger. If using a CR10X, CR510, or CR23X, please
call the factory.
• Configure the logger with Device Configuration.
1. Select the port to be used and select the baud rate to use. If using
RS232 connected to a com port, use the following for connections: pin
3 to odd # control port, pin 2 to even # control port, pin 5 to ground.
2. Select the destination address.
3. Enter the USR drive size (33 kb x num images + 66 kb). This formula
is for very high compression images.
4. Configure the files manager.
5. Help for each setting is in Device Configuration.
• Configure the camera.
1. Select the Pak port to use.
2. Select the baud rate for the port used.
3. Select the compression level — very high is suggested. Help for each
setting is in Device Configuration.
• Connect the camera to the CR1000 to the desired interface, and the power
cable to the CC640 Power the devices.
• Place the camera switch to the “on” position.
• Press the camera “snap” button. Observe that the camera light flashes a
few times, pauses then stays illuminated for about 40 seconds.
• To retrieve the image use LoggerNet and connect to the logger. Select
“tools” then file control to get to the file control menu.
• In the file control menu select the USR drive. Then observe the image file
name with JPG as the extension. Select the file with a left click, and
download the image to a directory that you select.
• Go to Windows Explorer, find the image, and open it by double clicking
on the file name.
