2346 T3 Modem Quick Start Guide
To set up and install the 2346 T3 modem, follow these steps:
1. For installation in a UCS 1001 or standalone enclosure, or if you plan to use the
Software Override option (see the User Manual), set SW2-2 to On to enable line
buildout or Off to disable line buildout.

2. Slide the 2346 into a slot:
· In the UCS 1002 chassis or a standalone enclosure, slide the 2346 into the slot and
tighten the captive screw.
· In a UCS 1000 or 1001, slide a Model 1230 BAM into a slot in the chassis, then slide
the 2346 into the BAM and tighten all captive screws.
The module automatically receives power from the chassis.
3. Connect cables; use Tx to Rx and Rx to Tx configuration:
a. Plug in BNC cables.
b. Clean optical fiber.
c. Plug in optical fiber.
d. Label all cables with connector name, signal name, and direction.
