You can check the camera’s serial number, firmware version, and
shutter-release cycles on the screen. You can also check the status log
for past errors and cautions.
Use this to check the camera’s condition. If necessary, take the camera
to nearest Canon Service Center. This is to reduce camera problems.

Select [System status display].
Under the [54] tab, select [System
status display], then press <0>.

Check the system status.
You can check the serial number,
firmware version, and shutter-release
cycles.
You can check the history of camera’s past errors and cautions, and
can also check the lens used, use of flash, and the battery used when
the error or caution occurred.

Check the log.
In step 2, press the <B> button.
X The camera’s status log will be
displayed.
“Err **” is an error message. For the
error messages, see page 523.
“Caution **” is a caution message.
