Preventing Camera Shake
Although remote control shooting can prevent camera shake, using
mirror lockup to prevent camera vibrations can also help when you use
a super telephoto lens or shoot close ups. Mirror lockup is enabled by
accessing [fT2
Custom
Function
(C.Fn)] and setting
[Mirror
lockup]
(p.1
05) to
[1
:Enable].
Press the shutter button completely to
lockup the reflex mirror.
~
Then press the shutter button
completely again to take the picture.
The reflex mirror will then go back
down.

Remote
control
shooting
Since you do not touch the camera when the picture is taken, remote
control shooting together with mirror lockup can further prevent
camera shake. With Remote Controller RC-5, pressing the transmit
button locks up the mirror before the shot is taken 2 sec. later. With
RC-1, set it to 2-sec. delay, then shoot.
