Chapter 5 Administrator Settings
Accessing from an External Terminal's
Web Browser
You can access the ScanFront from an external terminal's
web browser to register users, addresses, and jobs,
configure device settings, and perform other operations.
1. Set [Allow remote operation] to [ON]. (See p. 142.)
2. Start the web browser on the external terminal.
3. Enter the following URL to access the ScanFront.
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:50080/
* Enter the ScanFront's IP address for "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx".
Hint
When communicating by SSL,
enter "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:50443/".
The ScanFront login screen appears.
Hint
Export of operation logs can only be performed from an
external terminal's web browser.
While accessing the scanner from an external terminal's web
browser, you can select the terminal's storage as the
download destination or upload source for files. As a result,
the dialog boxes that appear when operating the following
screens will differ from those that appear on the scanner.
- [User Administration], [Address Book Settings], and the
[Export] and [Import] screens of the [Job Button Settings]
- The [Backup] and [Restore] screens of the [System Settings]
While accessing the scanner from an external terminal's web
browser, some of the setting items that appear in the
Administrator Settings screen will differ from those that appear
on the scanner.
- Items that do not appear when accessing the scanner from
an external terminal's web browser:
[ScanFront Maintenance] and [Format ScanFront] under
[Device Configuration]
[OS version] and [Web service] under [System Settings] -
[Version Info]
- Items that only appear when accessing the scanner from an
external terminal's web browser:
[Importing certificates] in [Certificates]
[File name] of [Private Key]
[Export Error Log] and [Version Up] in [System Settings]
