Chapter 8 Maintenance
❏ Cleaning the Retard Roller
Use the procedure below to remove and attach the retard
roller during cleaning or replacement.
CAUTION
Do not use excessive force when removing or attaching the
retard roller. Doing so may cause the roller to become
deformed, resulting in feed errors.
1. Open the roller cover.
2. Raise the document detection lever.
3. Pull the left lever that secures the retard roller to the
scanner, and remove the roller.
