Preventing the AF-Assist Beam from Firing

You can deactivate the lamp that normally lights up to help you focus
when you press the shutter button halfway in low-light conditions.
● Press the [
] button, choose [AF-
assist Beam] on the [ ] tab, and then
choose [Off] (
=
29).
● To restore the original setting, repeat this
process but choose [On].
Preventing the Red-Eye Reduction Lamp from
Lighting Up

You can deactivate the red-eye reduction lamp that lights up to reduce
red-eye when the ash is used in low-light shots.

Access the [Flash settings] screen.
● Press the [ ] button, choose [Flash
settings] on the [ ] tab, and then press
the [ ] button (

Congure the setting.
● Choose [Off] (

● To restore the original setting, repeat this
process but choose [On].
