CUSTOM Dial and Button
You can assign to the CUSTOM button and the CUSTOM dial one of several frequently used functions.
You can then adjust the selected function using the CUSTOM button and the CUSTOM dial, without
having to access the menu.
1 Press and hold the CUSTOM button for approx.
1 second.
A quick menu of available options will appear.
2 Turn the CUSTOM dial to select the desired option and
then press the CUSTOM button.
Alternatively, you can select an option using the [FUNC.]
> [MENU] > q > [CUSTOM Dial & Button] setting.

Default value)
Operating modes:
[ Tv/Av] When you set the recording program to [ Shutter-Pri. AE] or [ Aperture-Pri. AE], you
can adjust the shutter speed or aperture value with the CUSTOM dial.
[l Manual Exposure] When you set the recording program to [n Manual Exposure], repeatedly
press the CUSTOM button to toggle between the aperture value, shutter speed and gain. Next, use
the CUSTOM dial to adjust the setting.
[x AGC Limit] Adjusts the AGC limit. Press the CUSTOM button to switch the AGC limit to manual
adjustment and then use the CUSTOM dial to adjust it. Press the button again to switch it back to
automatic.
[y Exposure]
When using a recording program other than [P Fireworks] or [n Manual
Exposure], you can compensate the automatic exposure set by the camcorder. Press the CUSTOM
button to switch the exposure compensation to manual adjustment and then use the CUSTOM dial to
adjust it. Press the button again to switch it back to automatic.
[j Off] Use this setting if you do not intend to use the CUSTOM button or the CUSTOM dial.
