Using Accessories
Using the Infinity Compensation Mark (EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens Only)
You can compensate for shifting of the infinity focus point that results from
changes in temperature. The infinity position at normal temperature is the point
at which the vertical line of the L mark is aligned with the distance indicator on
the distance scale.
NOTES
For accurate focusing on subjects at infinity distance, focus manually.
Using an Optional Filter
You can attach a filter to the filter mounting thread on the front of the lens.
NOTES
Only one filter can be attached at a time.
If you need a polarizing filter, use the optional Circular Polarizing Filter (77 mm) for the EF24-105mm f/4L IS II
USM lens or optional Circular Polarizing Filter PL-C B (67 mm) for the EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.
To adjust the polarizing filter, first remove the lens hood.
Using an Optional Extension Tube
You can attach the optional Extension Tube EF12 II or EF25 II for magnified shots. The shooting distance and
magnification are shown below.
For the EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM lens
For the EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens
Using an Optional Close-up Lens (EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens Only)
You can attach an optional 500D (77 mm) Close-up Lens to enable close-up shooting at a magnification of 0.36x
to 0.05x.
NOTES
For accurate focusing on subjects, we recommend that you focus manually.
The optional 250D Close-up Lens cannot be attached.
