Wi-Fi Functions
About the Wi-Fi Functions
After you connect the camcorder to a network via Wi-Fi (A 146), you can use the following functions. You can
save up to 5 network configurations and switch easily between them depending on your working environment.
You can check the current network settings on the status screens (A 181) and change them if necessary
(A 152).
Wi-Fi functions and connection types

Connection to a Wi-Fi network via an external access point (wireless router, etc.).

Direct connection to one Wi-Fi-enabled device where the camcorder serves as the Wi-Fi access point.
Before using the Wi-Fi functions
• The instructions in this chapter assume you already have a correctly configured and working network, network
device(s) and/or Wi-Fi access point. If necessary, refer to the documentation provided with the network
devices you want to use.
• Configuring the network settings requires adequate knowledge about configuring and using wireless (Wi-Fi)
networks. Canon cannot provide support regarding network configurations.
IMPORTANT
• Canon shall not be liable for any loss of data or damage resulting from incorrect network configuration or
settings. Additionally, Canon shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of Wi-Fi functions.
• Using an unprotected Wi-Fi network can expose your files and data to monitoring by unauthorized third
parties. Be aware of the risks involved.
NOTES
• About the Wi-Fi antenna: When using the camcorder's Wi-Fi functions,
do not cover the Wi-Fi antenna with your hand or other object. Covering
it may interfere with wireless signals.
• Do not open the SD card slot cover while using Wi-Fi functions.

Control the camcorder remotely from the Web browser of a
connected device.

Transfer clips and photos recorded with the camcorder to
another device connected to the network using the FTP
protocol.

Access the MP4 clips or photos recorded on the SD card in the
camcorder from the Web browser of a connected device to
play back or save locally.
