Adjusting the Focus
Depending on the lens used, the camera offers several ways to focus and incorporates Dual Pixel CMOS AF
technology for advanced autofocus performance. Refer to the list of compatible lenses and functions that can be
used. Refer also to the instruction manual of the lens. When using a lens included with a lens kit, refer only to the
explanations in this section.
Manual focus: Turn the focus ring on the lens or use the Browser Remote application to adjust the focus. The
camcorder offers several focus assistance functions to help you focus more accurately when using the manual
focus.
One-shot AF*: With the lens's focus mode switch set to AF, press the ONE-SHOT AF button or use the Browser
Remote application to temporarily let the camcorder focus automatically on the subject at the center of the
screen.
Continuous AF*: The camcorder continuously focuses on the subject at the center of the screen. By pressing the
AF LOCK button, you can change the composition of the picture while keeping the focus.
Face AF**: The camcorder automatically detects a person's face, focuses on it and can track it if that person
moves.
* Not available when a manual focus lens is attached to the camera.
**Available only with compatible EF lenses (A 207).

Depending on the lens, the focus ring may be disabled when the focus mode switch is set to AF.
Required settings on EF Cinema lenses
To adjust the focus from the camcorder when using a compatible EF Cinema lens, you will need to change the
focus mode using the controls on the lens. Required settings vary depending on the lens. Refer to the following
table and the instruction manual of the lens used.
