and shoot and the camera sets everything automatically
(p.198). Also, to prevent botched pictures due to mistaken
operations, !!@jor shooting settings cannot be changed
in

fully-automatic modes.

About the Auto Lighting Optimizer
In
the fully-automatic modes

the Auto Lighting Optimizer
will adjust the image automatically to obtain the optimum
brightness and contrast.

modes, the Auto
Lighting Optimizer is enabled by default (p.177).
