Using AF to Focus *
Livej;
(Face Detection) Mode
With the same AF method as with the Live mode, the human face is
detected and focused. Have the person face the camera.
1 Display the Live View image.
• Press the <
1:1
> button.

The Live View image will appear on
the LCD monitor.

When
a
face
is
detected, the

:> frame
will
appear over the face
to
be
focused.
• If multiple faces are detected,

> will
be
displayed. Use the <

> to move
the

> frame over the target face.
2 Focus the subject.
• Press the <
AF-ON
> button to focus
the face covered by the
<:
:> frame.

When
focus
is
achieved,
the
AF
point
will
turn
green
and
the
beeper will
sound.

If focus is not achieved, the AF point
will turn red.
• If a
face
cannot
be
detected,
the
<0>
AF
point will
be
fixed
to
the
center for
focusing.
3 Take the picture.
• Check the focus and exposure, then
press the shutter button to take the
picture (p.118).
