Playback
Playback Controls
When you play back a clip, operate the buttons on the camcorder,
the joystick and joystick guide or the supplied wireless controller.
You can press the DISP button to show/hide the joystick guide.
Refer to the following table.
Available playback types
NOTES
• There is no audio during any of the playback types listed in the previous table.
• You can press the Ò button during fast playback to return to playback at normal speed.
• During some playback modes, you may notice some anomalies (blocky video artifacts, banding, etc.) in the
playback picture.
• The speed indicated on the screen is approximate.
• The amount of time equivalent to moving one frame forward is longer than moving one frame back and
depends on the video format used: approx. 0.5 seconds for XF-AVC clips and 1 second for XF-HEVC clips.
Playback type Operation
Fast playback
Playback at approximately 5x
the normal speed.
Buttons: Press the Ø or × button.
Wireless controller: Press the Ø or × button.
Frame advance/reverse
Joystick: During playback pause, push the joystick up or down.
Wireless controller: During playback pause, press the Ô or Ó button.
Jump back/forward within the
clip
Joystick: During playback, push the joystick up or down.
You can press the FUNC button to change the jump interval between [sec] to jump 30 seconds forward/
10 seconds back, and [%] to jump 10% of the clip.
Skip to the beginning of the
next clip
Buttons: Press the Ù button.
Joystick: Push the joystick right.
Wireless controller: Press the ß button.
Skip to the beginning of the
current clip
Buttons: Press the Ú button.
Joystick: Push the joystick left.
Wireless controller: Press the à button.
Skip to the previous clip
Buttons: Press the Ú button twice.
Joystick: Push the joystick left twice.
Wireless controller: Press the à button twice.
Return to normal playback
mode
Buttons: Press the Ò button.
Joystick: Press the joystick itself (SET button).
Wireless controller: Press the Ò button.
