Shooting Movies Set to Canon Log

On (8bit)
Select when recording movies with
Canon Log to the card. Also enables
you to record to an external device
via HDMI. Recording quality via HDMI
switches automatically based on the
[

1: Movie rec quality] setting.
On (10bit)
Select for 10-bit 4K (3840×2160) recording via HDMI to an
external device that supports 10-bit recording in 4K. Movies
cannot be recorded to the card. [

4: HDMI display] is
automatically set to [

No HDMI output is produced by the camera when set to [On (10bit)] if
the external recording device does not support 10-bit recording in 4K.
If there is no video output, conrm that the external recording device
supports the signals.

Full HD and HD output is not available when set to [On (10bit)].
o
Pressing the movie shooting button (p.209) will not start movie
recording if you are shooting still photos in a mode other than [
A
] and
[On (10bit)] is set for [
] (movie C3) mode.
YCbCr 4:2:0 (8-bit) color sampling and the Rec. ITU-R BT.709 color space
are used when recording with Canon Log to the card, just as in regular
movie shooting.
