Silent Shooting

You can shoot silently, using the sensor’s electronic shutter feature,
instead of with the mechanical shutter normally used in still photo
shooting. Continuous shooting is also possible. This is useful when
shooting where the camera must be quiet.

As you shoot, a white frame is displayed
around the screen.

Be responsible when using silent shooting, and respect subject privacy
and portrait rights.
o
With fast-moving subjects, shots of the subject may be distorted, or, in
continuous shooting with Servo AF (p.263), shots may be out of focus.
o
With some lenses and under some shooting conditions, lens focusing
and aperture adjustment may be audible.
o
When using silent shooting, if the ash of another camera is red
or silent shooting is performed under ickering light source such as
a uorescent light, stripes of light or banding due to the brightness
difference may be recorded in the image.
o
AEB shooting and ash photography are not available.
o
High-speed display (p.149) is not used in silent shooting, even when
the drive mode is set to <
