Selecting the AF Method
Magnied View
You can check the focus by magnifying display by approx. 5x or 10x.
Magnied view is not possible with [
u
+Tracking].

Magnication is centered on the AF point for [1-point AF], [Expand
AF area (
Z
)], and [Expand AF area: Around] and is centered on
the Zone AF frame for [Zone AF], [Large Zone AF: Vertical], and
[Large Zone AF: Horizontal].

Autofocusing is performed with magnied display if you press the
shutter button halfway when set to [1-point AF]. When set to other
AF methods, autofocusing is performed after restoring normal
display.

With Servo AF, if you press the shutter button halfway in the
magnied view, the camera will return to the normal view for
focusing.

If focusing is di󰀩cult in the magnied view, return to the normal view and
perform AF.
o
If you perform AF in the normal view and then use the magnied view,
accurate focus may not be achieved.
o
AF speed di󰀨ers between normal view and magnied view.
o
Continuous AF and Movie Servo AF are not available when display is
magnied.
o
With the magnied view, achieving focus becomes more di󰀩cult due to
camera shake. Using a tripod is recommended.
