Recording Time-lapse Movies
o
If the card does not have enough free space to record the set number of shots,
[Playback time] will be displayed in red.
Although the camera can continue
shooting, the shooting will stop when the card becomes full.
o
If the movie fi le size exceeds 4 GB with the [No. of shots] settings and the
card is not formatted in exF
AT (
=
512), [Playback time]
will be displayed
in red. If you keep shooting in this condition and the movie fi le size reaches 4
GB, the time-lapse movie recording will stop.
o
Do not point the camera toward an intense light source, such as the sun or an
intense artifi

camera’s internal components.
o

camera is connected to a computer with the interface cable, or when an HDMI
cable is connected.
o
Movie Servo AF will not function.
o
If the shutter speed is 1/30 sec. or slower, the exposure of the movie may not
be displayed properly (may diff
er from that of the resulting movie).
o
Do not zoom the lens during time-lapse movie recording. Zooming the lens
may cause the image to be out of focus, the exposure to change, or the lens
aberration correction not to function properly.
o
When recording a time-lapse movie under a fl
ickering light, noticeable image
ickering, horizontal stripes (noise), or irregular exposures may be recorded.
o
Images that are displayed while time-lapse movies are being recorded
may look diff
erent from the resulting movie. (For example, there may be
inconsistent brightness from fl ickering light sources, or noise from a high ISO
speed.)
o
When recording a time-lapse movie under low light, the image di
splayed
during shooting may look diff
erent from what is actually recorded in the movie.
In such cases, the [
g
] icon will blink.
o
If you move the camera from left to right (panning) or shoot a moving subject
during time-lapse movie recording, the image may look extremely distorted.
o
During time-lapse movie recording, auto power off
will not take eff
ect. Also,
you cannot adjust the shooting function and menu function setti
ngs, play back
images, etc.
o
Sound is not recorded for time-lapse movies.
o
With time-lapse movie recording, you can press the shutter button completely
to start or stop the movie recording regardless of the [

: Shutter btn
function for movies] setting.
o
With [Interval] set to less than 3 sec. and [Auto exposure] set to [Each
frame], if the brightness diff
ers greatly from the preceding shot, the camera
may not shoot at the set interval.
