Microphone Attenuator (Built-in Microphone or MIC Terminal)
If the audio level is too high and the audio sounds distorted while recording with the built-in
microphone or external microphone (MIC terminal), activate the microphone attenuator (20 dB) for the
respective microphone.
1 Select [Built-in Mic Att.] or [MIC Att.].
> [C
! Audio Setup] > [Built-in Mic Att.] or [MIC Att.]
2 Select the desired option and then select [X].
Options
Low-Cut Filter (Built-in Microphone or MIC Terminal)
You can activate the low cut filter to reduce the sound of blowing wind, a car’s engine and similar
ambient sounds. When recording in surroundings unaffected by wind or if you want to record low-
frequency sounds, we recommend turning off the low-cut filter.
1 Select [Built-in Mic Low Cut] or [MIC Low Cut].
> [C ! Audio Setup] > [Built-in Mic Low Cut] or [MIC Low Cut]
2 Select [i On] and then select [X].
[2 Automatic]: The camcorder will automatically activate the microphone attenuator as necessary
for optimal audio recording levels so high audio levels will not be distorted.
[i On]: The microphone attenuator will be activated at all times to reproduce more
faithfully the sound dynamics. å will appear on the screen.
[j Off]: The microphone attenuator will be deactivated at all times. will appear on the
screen.
