Recording Clips and Photos
This section explains the basics
of
recording clips* and photos in
IAUTOI
mode. For details on
recording audio, refer
to
the Instruction Manual.
Before making important recordings
for
the first time, make
test
recordings using the video
configuration(s) you plan
to
use
to
check that
the
camcorder operates correctly. Should the
camcorder fail
to
operate correctly, refer
to
the Instruction Manual.

"Clip"
refers
to
a
single
movie
unit
recorded
with
a
single
recording
operation
.

Open
the
lens
barrier.
Set the lens barrier switch
to
OPEN.
2 Press
the
START
/STOP
button
to
start
recording
a
clip.
Press the button again
to
pause the recording and
record the video on the SD card as one clip. The
camcorder will enter record standby mode.
3 During
record
standby
mode,
touch
[PHOTO]
to
take
a
photo.
When
you
have
finished
recording
[PHOTO]
ACCESS
indicator
START/
smP
Make sure the camcorder has finished writing clips
or
photos
to
the SD card before turning it off.

Close
the
lens barrier.

Check
that
the
ACCESS
indicator
is off.

Set
the
power
switch
to
OFF.

Close
the
LCD
panel.
If
necessary,
return
the
viewfinder
to
its
original
position.

Additionally, if a subject's face is detected, the camcorder will automatically keep the subject in
focus and optimize the exposure.
