Set Live View shooting to [Enable] or [Disable]. Even if [Disable] is set,
you can still shoot movies (p.149).

Grid
display
With [Grid 1
=R=]
or [Grid 2:m#], you can display grid lines.

Exposure simulation displays and simulates how the brightness
of
the
actual image will look. The
[Enable] and [Disable] settings are
explained
below:

Enable
The image brightness displayed will be close to the actual brightness
of
the resulting image. If you set exposure compensation, the image
brightness will change accordingly.

Disable
The image
is
displayed at the standard brightness to make the Live
View image easy to see.
