camera shake. Canon's new Hybrid IS changes all that. It's an advanced image stabilizing
technology that lets you take clear, close-up macro photos, even in casual situations without
a tripod where camera shake is likely. From difficult handheld shooting of macro photos, to
shooting in dim settings and places where tripods aren't welcome, Hybrid IS helps you
capture amazingly sharp images. Now, macro photography is as easy and convenient as
taking snapshots!

shutter speed of llfocal length In seconds is the limit for avoiding camera shake in standard handheld
shots. But in macro photography, the minimum shutter speed should be roughly 1 to 2 steps faster than
l/focallength in seconds. When EF 1 OOmm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens IS used in mocro shooting, Hybrid
IS achieves Image stabilizing effects equivalent to roughly three steps *2 faster shutter
speed at O.5x magnification and two steps *2 faster shutter speed at 1x magnification.
