Useful tips
Here are some useful tips for scanning documents.
Where are scanned images saved? Can the save destination
be changed?
Images are saved to the following locations, according to program
settings. All destination locations can be changed to other folders.
CaptureOnTouch Lite
Images are saved to the output destination set in the output panel.
How are the scan settings configured?
CaptureOnTouch Lite
Click the edit button ([ ]) in the scan mode panel and then edit the
scan settings in the displayed screen.
How do I save multiple pages in one file, or save one file per
page?
When scanned images are saved in BMP, PNG, or JPEG format, each
page is always saved as separate files.
When scanned images are saved in PPTX format, multiple pages are
always saved in one file.
When scanned images are saved in PDF or TIFF format, you can specify
multi- or single-page files. See also Q8 in "Common Problems and
Solutions" on p.65
Can I copy or back up scanner setting configurations?
Backup is not possible.
What rules apply to scanned image file names?
CaptureOnTouch Lite
The file names of scanned images are set based on the settings in
the Output panel.
Click the edit button ([ ]) in the Output panel and then set the file
name in [File name] in the displayed screen.
If you enable [Use advanced settings dialog box] of [File name] and
then click the [Detail Settings] button, the [File name settings] dialog
box appears. The scanned image file name is determined by setting
some or all of the three items in this dialog box.
A sample file name is displayed as the [File name] in the [File name
settings] dialog box.
How can I skip blank pages, and scan only non-blank pages?
Specify [Skip Blank Page] in the edit screen or advanced settings dialog
box of the scan mode panel, then scan.
How do I scan cards?
Set [Page size] to [Match original size] ([Detect automatically] in the
advanced settings dialog box of OS X) in the edit screen or advanced
settings dialog box of the scan mode panel, then scan. For details, see
"Loading cards" on p.22.
