Zoom
You can operate the zoom using the zoom ring or one of the zoom rockers (grip/handle). In addition, you can
choose the digital tele-converter function from the menu.
Selecting the Zoom Mode
Select > [
v
Camera Setup] > [Digital Zoom] > Desired option.
Options
[Tele-converter 6.0x], [Tele-converter 3.0x], [Tele-converter 1.5x]:
The camera processes the image digitally to multiply the focal length by a factor of 6, 3 or 1.5,
respectively.
[Digital 300x]: The camera uses the optical zoom up to 15x and processes the image digitally after that, up to
a magnification ratio of 300x.
[Advanced 30x]

The camera can zoom up to 30x combining the optical zoom and additional processing.
[Off]: The camera uses only the optical zoom up to 15x.
When you operate the zoom, a zoom indicator

will appear on the screen that
shows the approximate zoom position. The white area

of the zoom bar indicates
the optical zoom range and the blue area

indicates the digital zoom range.

Only available when the resolution is 1920x1080 or 1280x720.

You can use the > [¢ Monitoring Setup] > [Custom Display 1] > [Zoom Indicator] setting
to set the zoom indicator to a numerical display.

• You can attach the TL-U58 Tele-converter or WA-U58 Wide Attachment (both optional) to the camera (A 72).
You can even use the TL-U58 in combination with the digital zoom and digital tele-converter functions.
• When an optional RC-V100 Remote Controller is connected to the camera, if [Digital Zoom] is set to one of the
digital tele-converter options, the remote controller’s EXTENDER indicator will light up.
• When > [v Camera Setup] > [Conversion Lens] is set to [WA-U58], digital zoom and the digital tele-
converter options are not available.
Selecting the Zoom Controls
Set the ZOOM switch to the desired position to select the
physical controls you want to use to operate the zoom.
Options
RING: Turn the zoom ring to zoom.
ROCKER (other controls):
Use the grip zoom rocker, handle zoom
rocker or a remote controller connected to
one of the camera's REMOTE terminals to
zoom.
