Before Use
Using the Menu

Access the setting screen.
● Press the [ ] button and choose
[Protect] on the [ 1] tab (

32).

Choose a selection method.
● Choose an option as desired (

● To return to the menu screen, press the

] button.
Protecting Images
Still Images Movies
Protect important images to prevent accidental erasure (

105).
● Press the [
] button, select
[ ] from the menu, and then use the
[ ][ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to
select [ ]. This will display the [ ]
icon.
● Press the [
] button again to remove the
[ ] icon and unprotect the image.
● Protected images on a memory card will be erased if you format
the card (
=
138).
● Protected images cannot be erased using the camera’s erasure
function. To erase them this way, rst cancel protection.
