Cliange the BJ cartridge. See pg.l03.
Make a copy on your Fv\XPF-IONE. Ff the image is OK, then your
FVXXPFdONP is operating properly.
Contact the other party and have them cheek their machine.
J Cannot receive using Error Correction Mode (ЕСМ)?
Does the other jiartv's fax support ECM?
Some lax units do not support ECM transmission, lithe other party's fax
does not support EC.M. the document is sent in the normal mode without
error cheeking.
• /v xour FAXPHONE set for ECM receiving?
ECM receiving can be turned off and on. Cheek the current setting. See
pg.HP.
J Nothing prints?
Did you remove the orange tape from the BJ cartridge before you in
stalled It tn the FAXPHONE?
Be sLiie to remove the orange tape from the BJ cartridge before you
install it in the EAXPHONE. See pg.lO.
Make sure the BJ cartridge is installed correctly. Sec pg.lO.
• Clean the print head several times. See pg. 102.

J Are the images you print blotched or uneven?
Are you using ECM sending/reeeiving?
ECM sending/reeeiving should eliminate such problems. However, if the
telephone lines are in poor condition, you may have to try again.
Hon is the quality (f the other party's fax'?
Remember, the sending fax usually determines document quality. Be sure
the other party's the back of top cover and scanning glass are clean.

Is the telephone line connected to the EAXPJIONE?
Be sure the telephone line is correctly connected to the EAXPHONE.

Is the EAXPHONE set for the type (f telephone line in use tpulse/tone) ?
If you have a pulse line, be sure the EAXPHONE is set for pulse dialing.
If vou are not sure about what type of line you have, contact your local
telephone eompanv. See pg.l4.
