Preparing to send a document
Before you send a document please refer to:

Setting the resolution and density

You can control the resolution and density ot the lax reproduction when sending or
copying documents.
■ What is resolution
Resolution defines the quality of the document reproduction. Standard resolution is
enough for most text documents. Documents with photographs or very tine print should
be sent using Fine resolution.
I Setting the resolution
Standard
Press the resolution button until 0 appears.
Standard resolution is 203 dpi x 98 dpi.
Fine
Press the resolution button until ^appears.
Fine resolution is 203 dpi x 196 dpi.
■ The AUTO HALFTONE setting
To scan documents that contain photos, use the AUTO FIALFTONF. setting.
\\ ith this setting, areas of the document that contain photos arc automati-
call\ scanned v\ ith 64 levels ol gray, rather than just 2 levels, black and
white. This results in a much better reproduction ol the photograph.

Press the resolution button until the Q icon appears. When |Ш

selected the fax automatically selects between STANDARD and STANDARD
H.ALFTONF scanning.
When _ |1 H is selected the FAXPHONE automatically selects between
FINE and FINE HALFTONE scanning.
Use _ ЖИ (FINE AUTO HALFTONE) when sending a document with
high resolution photos.

Q
Density control
You can adjust the setmning density by changing the density control in USER SET
TINGS (See pg.87). For light originals choose the DARKER setting. For dark origi
nals choose the LIGHTER setting. W'hen (he AUTO HALFTONE setting is selected,
the FAXPHONE automatically decides the density.
