Connect the Scanner

Peel the caution seals from the scanner.

Connect the FAU cable to the scanner.

Connect the scanner to the computer with the supplied USB interface cable or a
generic IEEE1394 (FireWire) interface cable.

Attach the supplied AC adapter to the scanner.
• Make sure that the scanning unit is unlocked. (P.6)
• You cannot have the USB cable and the IEEE1394 interface cable connected to the
scanner at the same time.
• Please read the IEEE1394 caution sheet bundled with the scanner for precautions
with the IEEE1394 interface and recommended cables by Canon.
• Only use the USB interface cable and the AC adapter provided with the scanner. Use of
other cables or adapters may lead to a malfunction.
