3.3.5 Halftone Test Print (PGTYPE=05)
Use the halftone test print to check transfer faults (failure), black lines, white lines, and
uneven intervals.
a.Transfer Faults (failure)
If a transfer fault is noted, suspect a fault in the transfer belt or the static eliminating as-
sembly.
b. Black Lines
If black lines are noted, suspect scratches on the photosensitive drum or dirt on the pri-
mary charging wire.
c. White Lines
If white lines are noted at the same location for all colors, suspect a fault on the transfer
belt.
If they occur at different locations, or if they occur in one color only, suspect a fault in the
developing assembly.
d.Uneven Intervals
If uneven intervals occur, suspect the following:
If at intervals of about 0.5 mm, suspect the scanner*.
If at intervals of about 38 mm, suspect the developing cylinder.
If at intervals of about 1.6 mm, suspect the drive gear.
*Will not occur on test prints.

Use Service mode ‘TEST>PG>COLOR-C/M/Y/K’ to make a mono or 3-
color selection.
