The Scanned Image is Dirty

If the scanning section of the device is dirty or if the original is unclear, it may be caused by one of the following.

Follow the instructions described in each "Remedy."

Cause 1.

The platen glass or platen cover is dirty

Remedy

Clean the platen glass, platen cover, or feeder scanning area. For details, refer to the manual of the device.

Cause 2.

The state of the original is bad

Remedy

The quality of the scanned image may be improved by correction processing in the utility software. Set this in

the panel of the utility software corresponding to the device.

● In MF Scan Utility

In the [Scan Options] panel of the [Settings] dialog box > the settings in [Image Processing Settings]

● In MF Toolbox

The settings in the [Scan] panel of the scan dialog box

● In ScanGear MF

The settings in the [Advanced Mode] panel
