Special recording modes (A 96)
When you make recordings, you can change the
recording frame rate to achieve a fast or slow motion
effect. Alternatively, you can use pre-recording to
record 3 seconds before you decide to start
recording, helping you capture those hard-to-catch
opportunities.
Advanced Professional Features
Customization
The camcorder features several customization
options. You can assign often-used functions to
assignable buttons (A 107) so that you can call up
those functions with the press of a single button.
You can also register frequently-used menu settings
in an easy-to-access personal menu (My Menu,
A 29). Custom functions (A 121) and custom
onscreen displays (A 122) give you even more
freedom to control many aspects of the camcorder’s
operation. Save custom picture and menu settings
to an SD card (A 123) so that you can transfer
your setting preferences to other C100 Mark II
camcorders in order to use them in the same way.
Time code/User bit output
The internal camcorder-generated time code can be
output from the HDMI OUT terminal for easy logging
and referencing (A 170). Additionally, the
camcorder can output also the user bit (A 83).
Audio
When recording at the certain bit rates, you have the
option to record sound as 2-channel linear PCM
audio (16-bit/48 kHz). You can use the built-in
microphone, 3.5 mm MIC terminal or the two XLR
audio input terminals (with phantom power supply)
when recording. There is even a built-in monaural
microphone you can use to record comments while
shooting (A 84).
Other Functions
OLED screen and LCD viewfinder
The camcorder is equipped with an OLED screen
with incredible color reproduction, contrast and
response time. The viewfinder can be tilted
68 degrees upward, which gives you additional
range and versatility while you shoot.
Video scopes
Check the brightness of the image using the
waveform monitor (A 92) or the focus using the
edge monitor (A 93).
Wi-Fi network functions (A 145)
You will find the camcorder's Wi-Fi functionality
useful in everyday shooting and playback situations.
After you connect the camcorder to a network, you
can, for example, use the browser on a network
device to control the camcorder remotely (Browser
Remote) or play back recordings on the camcorder
(Playback via Browser), and transfer recordings to
an FTP server (A 158).
Added and improved functionality
Other functions include the ability to convert your
recordings to MP4 in the camcorder itself (A 133),
and the Intelligent System-compatible battery pack
(A 200). Also, you can set the camcorder to
continuous recording (A 98) so that you do not
miss shooting any of the action. Additionally, the
camcorder is compatible with the optional RC-V100
Remote Controller (A 105), which gives you
access to a multitude of functions.
