Recording
Recording Video
This section explains the basics of recording clips*. For details on recording audio, refer to
Recording Audio
(A 96).
Before making important recordings for the first time, make test recordings using the video configuration(s) you
plan to use to check that the camera operates correctly. Should the camera fail to operate correctly, refer to
Troubleshooting
(A 206).
* “Clip” refers to a single movie unit recorded with a single recording operation. You can also include metadata with the clip.
Preparing to Record
1 Attach the LCD monitor, handle unit, camera grip, etc. as necessary to build the desired
configuration (
A 36).
2 Attach a charged battery pack to the camera (
A 25).
3 Insert recording media (CFast card, one or two SD cards) as necessary (
A 48, 49).
Insert SD cards into both SD card slots to use relay recording, double slot recording (A 51) or continuous
recording (A 118).
Insert an SD card into SD card slot B to record photos.
To use an external recorder (A 152), complete the necessary connections and settings.
4 Attach a lens (A 37).
5 Adjust the viewfinder (

only) and/or LCD screen.
Operating modes:
