Synchronizing with an External Device
Reference Video Signal Output
You can output the camera’s video signal as a reference sync signal (tri-level HD signal) to synchronize an
external device to this camera. The reference video signal output will have the same frequency as the signal
output from the REC OUT terminal.
1 Open the GENLOCK/SYNC OUT terminal’s [Select] submenu.
[¢ Picture/Terminals Setup] > [GENLOCK/SYNC OUT Term.] >
[Select]
2 Select [HD Sync Output] and then press SET.
If necessary, change the scan mode (P or PsF) with the [¢ Picture/
Te rminals Setup ]
> [GENLOCK/SYNC OUT Term.] > [SYNC Scan
Mode] setting.
Synchronization signals
* When the camera is set to slow & fast motion recording mode ([Slow & Fast Motion]) and the shooting frame rate is set to 1 to 30
(fps), the signal output will be 1080/30.00 (P/PsF); when the shooting frame rate is set to 31 to 60 (fps), it will be 1080/60.00i.
When the camera is set to slow & fast motion recording in crop mode ([Slow & Fast Motion (crop)]), the signal output will always
be 1080/60.00i.
Time Code Signal Output
The time code will be output from the TIME CODE terminal as a SMPTE-standard LTC timing signal. The user bit
will also be output. Additionally, the time code will be output from the MON. terminal, REC OUT terminal, and, if
you set [3 Recording/Media Setup] > [HDMI Time Code] to [On], also from the HDMI OUT terminal (except
during interval recording, frame recording or slow & fast motion recording).
Before connecting the external device, set [¢ Picture/Terminals Setup] > [Time Code] > [TC In/Out] to [Out]
to change the TIME CODE terminal’s function to output (A 93).
