Setting the components of the clip file name
To set the camera index
1 Open the [Camera Index] screen.

) > [Metadata] > [Camera Index]
2 Turn the SELECT dial to select the desired camera index.
3 Press [OK] (camera menu) or press SET twice (monitoring menu).
To set the clip numbering method
1 Open the [Clip Numbering] screen.

2 Select [Reset] or [Continuous] and then press SET.
Options
[Reset]: Clip numbers will restart from 001 every time you insert a new recording media.
[Continuous]: Clip numbers will start from the initial number set with [Clip Number] (following procedure) and
continue across different recording media.
To set the reel number or initial clip number
The initial clip number can only be set when [Clip Numbering] is set to [Continuous].
1 Open the [Reel Number] or [Clip Number] screen.

) > [Metadata] > [Reel Number] or [Clip Number]
2 Monitoring menu only: Select [Set] and then press SET.
To reset the reel/clip number to [001], select [Reset] instead.
3 Set the desired reel/clip number using the keyboard screen (A 37).
Camera menu only: Press [RESET] to reset the reel/clip number to [001].

NOTES
If XF-AVC clips and ProRes clips are recorded on the same recording media, their reel numbers will differ.
To set the user-defined field
1 Open the [User Defined] screen.
[Rec/Media Setup] (3) > [Metadata] > [User Defined]
2 Set the desired text/number using the keyboard screen (A 37).
Camera menu only: Press [RESET] to reset the user-defined field to [CANON].
