Chapter 7 ScanFront Administration Tool for SF400
Displaying the Web Menu
When you select a ScanFront scanner in the list and click
the [Open Web Menu] button, the Web browser starts and
the Web Menu for the selected ScanFront is displayed.
IMPORTANT
Operation of Compatibility View for Internet Explorer is not
guaranteed. If you access the Web Menu in Compatibility
View, the screen may not be displayed properly, operations
may not complete, and other problems may occur. When
accessing the Web Menu using Internet Explorer, check
whether the Web Menu's URL is configured for Compatibility
View.
When accessing the Web Menu via SSL communication, an
error may occur and access may not be possible even if the
ScanFront is registered as an exempt site. In such cases,
import a server certificate that has the same CN, SAN, etc. as
the URL you want to access, and import the root certificate of
the root certificate authority that issued the same certificate or
server certificate to your Web browser's [Trusted Root
Certification Authorities] (in the case of Internet Explorer).
Hint
The [Open Web Menu] button is not available in Web
Application Mode.
Batch Processing
You can select multiple ScanFront scanners in the list, and
select a command in the [Processing] menu to perform the
same operation all of the selected ScanFront scanners at
one time.
The following commands are available in the [Processing]
menu.
[Restore All Settings]
• Restore one File
This operation reads one backup data file saved on the
computer and restores it to all selected ScanFronts.
• Restore multiple files per device
By specifying the folder on the computer in which
individual ScanFront backup data has been collected
beforehand, it is restored to the ScanFront with the
matching IP address or device name included in the file
name of the backup data in that folder.
When [Restore multiple files per device] is executed, a
dialog box appears, listing the backup data
corresponding to the selected ScanFront. Click [OK] to
restore.
Hint
Uncheck backup data in the list to exclude it from the restore
targets.
Backup data is created in files named as follows.
allsettings _<IP address or device name>_<date>.dat
If multiple backup data files have the same IP address or
device name in the file name, the one with the latest date is
used for the restore.
The [Restore All Settings] button is not available in Web
application mode.
IMPORTANT
Be sure to use [Backup All Settings] in the ScanFront
Administration Tool for SF400 to create backup data files.
Backup data created with the ScanFront main unit and the
Web menu have different file naming rules, so they cannot be
used for restoration by this operation.
Do not alter backup data file names.
