General Notes (Preview) When using Canon imagePROGRAF Preview (hereafter Preview), the following restrictions apply. Please familiarize yourself with them before using it. • Preview supports Canon IJ CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 15.0.0 or later for OS X, which supports roll paper feeding. • This guide primarily provides explanations using the screens that are displayed when you use OS X Yosemite v10.10.
The Features of Preview The main features of Preview are as follows. • While viewing this screen, you can adjust layout settings of a document created with application software. • You can not only adjust layout settings but also your changes will be instantly applied on the preview screen, and you can print the preview screen as it is seen. Note • The media type, image size, detailed media settings, and the printer settings can cause the actual print output to differ from the Preview settings.
Starting Preview Follow the procedure below to start the Preview. Open Print dialog box. 1. Open Print dialog box. From the application software's File menu, select the printer setup menu to open the Print dialog box. Note • Normally, select Print from the File menu. 2. Select starting method. Start using either of the following methods. Start by turning on Print Preview Start from PDF pop-up menu Start by turning on Print Preview 1. Set Print Preview.
Start from PDF pop-up menu 1. From PDF pop-up menu, select Canon imagePROGRAF Preview. Click the PDF pop-up menu on thePrint dialog box, and select Canon imagePROGRAF Preview from the list. Preview main window is displayed.
Important • Preview cannot be started with application software that does not allow the use of a PDF pop-up menu. • If you select a printer that does not support Preview, the following message appears. In this case, select a different printer.

Preview Main Window The Preview main window consists of a menu bar, tool bar, preview area, and print settings change and control panel. Note • You can use the View menu to show or hide the tool bar. Menu Bar Tool Bar Preview Area Print Settings Change and Control Panel Menu Bar This allows you to select menus required for operations. Tool Bar This allows you to select tool buttons required for major operations.
Enlarge Increases the zoom scaling of part of the preview in the selected window. You can also set this with Enlarge in the View menu. Reduce Decreases the zoom scaling of part of the preview in the selected window. You can also set this with Reduce in the View menu. Zoom Set the magnification for enlargement or reduction of the screen display. You can also set this with Zoom in the View menu.
Note • You can use the View menu to show or hide the ruler. Set the ruler unit in the Preferences dialog box. For more information, see "Preferences Dialog Box." Print Settings Change and Control Panel This allows you to set the print conditions and perform a print job.

Print Settings Change and Control Panel This allows you to set the print conditions and perform a print job. Preview with This Roll Paper Width This lists the roll paper widths supported by the printer. It shows the layout for the selected roll paper width in the preview area. Note • You cannot select this when using cut paper. Layout Selection Select the method for rotating page. The following settings are available for Layout Selection. Setting Details No Rotation Prints without rotating.
Note • You cannot set Rotate Page 90 degrees in Layout Selection in the following cases. • When cut paper is selected in Paper Source • When Banner Printing is specified in the printer driver • When either a square size or a size that is wider than it is taller is specified when using a custom media size For details on Layout Selection, see "Printing with Selecting the Layout." Print Centered You can print on the center of the media loaded in the printer.
Preferences Dialog Box This dialog box appears when you select Preferences from the Canon imagePROGRAF Preview menu. You can set the preferences for Preview. Units Select the ruler unit.
Zoom Dialog Box This dialog box appears when you select Zoom from the View menu. You can enlarge or reduce the screen display. Scaling Set the magnification for enlargement or reduction of the screen display. Note • You can input between 10 and 400. • You can change the numbers by clicking button.

Print on the Center You can print on the center of the media loaded in the printer. 1. Select Print Centered. Click the Print Centered check box on the Print Settings Change and Control Panel. Note • You cannot select this if Borderless Printing is set in the printer driver. 2. Click Print button. Printing on the center begins.
Not Print Spaces at the Top/Bottom You can save paper on not to feed roll paper for the empty spaces when the print data contains spaces at the top or bottom. 1. Select Roll Paper. On the Print Settings Change and Control Panel, select Roll Paper in Preview with This Roll Paper Width. 2. Select No Spaces at Top or Bottom. Click the No Spaces at Top or Bottom check box on the Print Settings Change and Control Panel. 3. Click Print button. Printing on the settings with no spaces at top or bottom begins.
Printing with Selecting the Layout You can select the page layout for printing. In Layout Selection, select No Rotation or Rotate Page 90 degrees for the layout. 1. Select layout. On the Print Settings Change and Control Panel, select the rotation direction in Layout Selection. To save paper while printing, select Rotate Page 90 degrees. 2. Click Print button. Printing on the selected layout begins. Note • You cannot set Rotate Page 90 degrees in Layout Selection in the following cases.
Display with Fitting to the Width of the Paper In the preview area, you can display to the width of the paper. 1. Select Fit to Width. Select Fit to Width from the tool bar. Alternatively, you can select Fit to Width from the View menu. Fitting to the width of the paper, it is displayed.
Display with All In the preview area, you can display all. 1. Select Fit Screen. Select Fit Screen from the tool bar. Alternatively, you can select Fit Screen from the View menu. All is displayed.
