Setup of a new service part for the color toner cartridge cover

Detail:

A cover [1] is attached to the developing rotary to prevent stray toner from collecting on the color toner cartridge

housing and to prevent soiling of the floor or hands, possibly occurring when the user is replacing the color toner

cartridge. The cover will now be set up as a service part (FY1-1236-000) and it is important to follow the

instructions indicated in the attachment when performing replacement work.

Replacing the color toner cartridge cover 1) To avoid damage to the drum during the work, slide out the AP kit from the machine; then, remove the photosensitive drum by going through the instructions in the Service Manual: Parts replacement procedure>Image Processing system>Photosensitive Drum 2) Slide out the fixing/ feeding unit and the AP kit fully from the machine.

5) To make space for work, remove the 2 screws [3] and remove the rail (front) [4] of the BK developing assembly. [3] [4] 6) Detach the cover you are replacing [5] by peeling its double-sided tape starting at the front and making sure no glue is left behind. At the right side of the cover, the tape is on the inner side of the AP kit frame; use a flat-blade screwdriver (small) and work slowly to remove all glue.

8) Peel a segment of the double-sided tape from the left side of the new cover; then, attach it by matching against the corner [7] of the rotary unit. Attach the cover over the step in the frame. Once you have attached it to the corner, peel off the entire backing paper of the double-sided tape; then, attach the left side [8] and then the rear [9]. [9] [7] [8] 9) Attach the front [10] of the cover and then the bend [11]. Best sure that the cover is also secure at the right front ([12] and [13]).
