Try Scanning Try Scanning The following steps explain how to scan with ArcSoft PhotoStudio. 1 Place a photo or a picture on the document glass of the scanner by aligning its top edge with the alignment mark, and close the document cover. If an error message appears, click the [File] menu, choose [Select Source], select your scanner model name and click the [Select] button. or click the [File] menu and select [Import...]. When the [Select Source] dialog displays, select [ScanGear CS 7.2] and click the [OK] button. ScanGear CS will start.
Try Scanning 7 Click [Scan]. The final scan will start. 8 Click or (close box) in the ScanGear CS window to close it. The scanned image will appear in the PhotoStudio window. 9 Save the scanned image. Click the [File] menu and select [Save As]. Select the folder where you wish to store the image file, enter a file name, select a file type (JPG format is recommended) and click [Save]. 10 Click or (close box) in the PhotoStudio window to close it.
Using the Scanner Buttons Using the Scanner Buttons You can use the four convenient buttons on the scanner’s front panel to scan and perform related tasks easily with a single touch of the button. Place an item on the document glass of the scanner before pressing a button. • To use these buttons, ScanGear CS, CanoScan Toolbox, ArcSoft PhotoBase and Presto! PageManager (for Windows)/Acrobat Reader (for Macintosh) should be installed from the CanoScan Setup Utility CD-ROM.
Scanning Film Scanning Film This scanner can scan 35 mm film strips one frame at a time. Preparing to Scan Film Use the following procedures to place the Film Adapter Unit and the Film Guide on the document glass to scan film. • Clean the document glass before placing the Film Guide on it, otherwise dirt and dust can affect image quality or damage the film. • You cannot scan film with the scanner in the upright position.
Scanning Film 2 Gently close the document cover. • Do not press down on, or rest your hands on, the document cover. • Be careful not to force the document cover down. 3 Start ArcSoft PhotoStudio. Select [Start], [Programs] or [All Programs], [ArcSoft PhotoStudio] and [PhotoStudio 5]. Double-click the [Applications (Mac OS 9)] and [PhotoStudio] folders and the [PhotoStudio] icon. • If ScanGear CS is already running, click the close box ( and close it. Scanning Film 7 Open the document cover and remove the Film Adapter Unit. To continue scanning your film, follow the Scanning Film steps. Put the CAP back on the Film Adapter Unit. Scanning Film The following steps explain how to scan films with ArcSoft PhotoStudio and ScanGear CS. 1 Place the film in the Film Guide. Place the film face up in the Film Guide (images and words should read correctly from above) with the spaces between frames aligned with the white lines on the guide.
Scanning Film 5 Start ScanGear CS. Click the Acquire icon or click the [File] menu and select [Acquire]. If an error message appears, click the [File] menu, choose [Select Source], select your scanner model name and click the [Select] button. Click the Acquire icon or click the [File] menu and select [Import...]. When the [Select Source] dialog displays, select [ScanGear CS 7.2] and click the [OK] button. ScanGear CS will start.
