3. Adjusting the Scanner Driver Cable
Move the No.

mirror mount to the home (start)
position,
pull
the cable using a spring gauge
(A
in
Figure 4-25), and turn screw A so that the reading of
the gauge
is
about 1 .O

Mirror
Position

Adjust the relative position of the mirrors when
the mirror drive cable has been re-routed.
Theposition can be adjusted by moving thefixing

Note:
i.
The cable tends to become slack as cop-
ies are made, necessitating adjustment of
its tension.

the optical distance between the No. 1
and 2 mirrors

not correct, the horizontal
reproduction ratio
will
not be correct and,
at the
same
time, images
will
be out of
focus.
