Using
the
Self-timer
The
self-timer
function allows
you
to take
a
picture
when
you
are some distance
from the camera

Set the camera
to self-

timer
mode.

Press the

icon appears on
the LCD
panel.

then
press
the

button twice, the

disappears
and self-timer
mode is cancelled.

Compose
the
picture

press
the shutter
button.

The red-eye reduction
lamp flashes
(once
a
second) and a
10-second
conuntdown
is
displayed
on the LCD oanel.
t The shutter is released
after about
10
seconds.

To cancel the self-timer,

Do not stand directly

the camera when

the shutter button as this
will result in the
picture

out of focus.

seconds
before the
shutter is

released, the lamp begins
to flash more rapidly.
lf the
flash and
the red-eye reduction function are used,
the
lamp stays lit for the
last 2 seconds.

Self-timer
shots can be
taken for the 4 minutes that
the

icon is
displayed.

Set the camera
on a steady surface or use a
tripod.

The focus
lock function can be used
in the
same
wav
as in normal
