AsthmaMentor Peak Flow Meter
(Philips Respironics) The AsthmaMentor peak flow meter is designed
to aid clinicians in teaching patients what to do when their asthma
conditions change. The meter features a built-in AutoZone system,
which automatically calculates a patient’s peak flow green, yellow
and red zones. Also included is an asthma action plan sticker,
which can be affixed to the back of the meter and features color-
coordinated areas where doctors can write instructions for treatment
of readings falling within each zone. When readings from the meter
are compared against these instructions, it helps patients follow their
physician orders to treat their conditions.
The meter’s linear scale measures flow rates from 60 to 810 L/min
in increments of 10 L/min. The device meets ATS standards for
accuracy and precision. Dimensions: 6.13"L x 2.65"W x 0.80"H.
Disposable one-way valve mouthpieces are available, offering
protection from cross-contamination during multipatient screenings.

The AsthmaCheck peak flow meter measures a patient’s peak
expiratory flow and helps monitor respiratory conditions such
as asthma. Its built-in, three-zone system facilitates patient training
and compliance, and allows for flexibility in setting the zones to
meet patients’ individual needs.
Measuring only 2.25" x 6", the meter meets ATS standards for
accuracy and precision. The AsthmaCheck
™
meter is equipped
with an easy-grip handle to direct hands away from the airflow
path and features a linear scale that measures from 60 to 810 L/min
in increments of 10 L/min Designed for single-patient use, the device
can be cleaned with soap and water and is top-rack dishwasher safe.
