Blackout Cloth Finished Edge Projector Screens ship folded and cannot ship rolled. Remove
your screen from the box immediately upon receipt. Once installed and the proper tension
has been applied evenly all the way around the screen, the folds pull out nicely. Fold marks
can be a good indicator you have applied the proper amount of tension during installation.
To store your screen; make sure it is clean and dry and always fold it loosely, do not roll a
finished edge screen or you risk imprinting the screen with each grommet hole each time
around the tube.
Tip: *** Kits do NOT include the required 1" EMT frame poles. ***
EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing, also known as, Electrical Metal Conduit. The 1-inch size fits
into our corner and support fittings perfectly and can be found in the electrical section of your local
hardware store.
3 Easy Steps:
1. Cut 1” EMT poles to the dimensions shown
2. Insert poles 4” into each corner/support fitting
3. Stretch the screen to the frame using the bungees
To achieve proper tension when mounting your screen to your poles; start by inserting the EMT pipe
4-inches into each corner and support fitting provided, then push or pull the pipes in or out of the
fittings until you have pulled the screen tight.
Attach the screen with the included bungees. Insert the bungee cord through the grommet hole
from behind the screen. The ball now touches the backside of the black vinyl border. Pull the cord
over and around the 1" EMT pole. Lastly, loop the cord over the ball behind the screen. Rotate top,
bottom, left and right— starting in the center and work your way out to the corners. Repeat until you
have used every grommet hole.
The first time you assemble your standing kit it should take approximately 30-60 minutes. After you
have setup your kit a few times and you learn how it's done; it only takes an average of 20-30
minutes. Giant screens make take a few extra minutes and it's always nice if you have a helper.
Wind is a powerful force of nature! If you are expecting inclement weather make sure your
screen is properly anchored. Unfortunately, Carl's Place cannot be held responsible for damage to or
resulting from screens that are left out in the wind and rain. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure - do your best to setup, use and store your screen in a clean and dry environment.
