Replacing Poly Chain® Belt
• Loosen Poly Chain® belt by moving jackshaft
bearings back toward rear of machine. MARK
THE JACKSHAFT BEARINGS SO THAT
YOU KNOW WHERE THEY ARE
POSITIONED ON THE JACKSHAFT
PLATE. Loosen, do not remove, the four bolts
that hold the jackshaft bearings down.
• Loosen the jam bolts in the back and move the
bearings toward cutter wheel.
• Place a mark on the cutter wheel shaft next
to the cutter wheel bushing for replacing the
bushing and sprocket.
• When the belt has been loosened, remove the
cutter wheel sprocket. Remove the three screws
in the bushing and then screw two of the screws
into the two threaded holes to push the bushing
out of the sprocket. Turn one screw a small
amount and then turn the other screw the same
amount to keep from damaging the bushing or
sprocket, work back and forth until the sprocket
is loose.
• You may have to strike the sprocket rim with a
dead blow hammer or leather mallet, NOT A
STEEL HAMMER, while applying tension with
the two screws to break sprocket loose.
