Note: Ch 2 at beg of rnd does not count
as st.
With MC, ch 54 (60-64). Join with sl st to
rst ch to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. Join
with sl st to rst sc. 54 (60-64) sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 2. Working into back loops
only, 1 hdc in each sc around. Join with
sl st to rst hdc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join
with sl st to rst sc.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rnds 2 (3-4) times more,
then rep 2nd rnd once.
Shape crown: 1st rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each
of next 7 (8-6) hdc. Sc2tog. Rep from *
around. Join with sl st to rst sc. 48 (54-
56) stitches (sts).
2nd and alt rnds: Ch 2. Working into back
loops only, 1 hdc in each st around. Join
with sl st to rst hdc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 6 (7-5)
hdc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with
sl st to rst sc. 42 (48-48) sts.
5th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 4 hdc.
Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st
to rst sc. 35 (40-40) sts.
7th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 3 hdc.
Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st
to rst sc. 28 (32-32) sts.
9th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 2 hdc.
Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st
to rst sc. 21 (24-24) sts.
10th rnd: Ch 2. *Working into back loops
only, 1 hdc in next st. Hdc2tog. Rep from *
around. Join with sl st to rst hdc. 14 (16-
16) sts.
11th rnd With MC, ch 1. *Sc2tog. Rep
from * around. Join with sl st to rst st.
7 (8-8) sts.
Fasten o, leaving a long end. Draw
end tightly through rem sts and fasten
securely.
