Two-Wire Polarized Cord To reduce the risk of electric shock, the vacuum cord is equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to replace the obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

How to Assemble and Operate the Vacuum Note: Do not plug in the vacuum until it is completely assembled. Handle Assembly The vacuum, floor brush, wand and accessories are packed separately. 1. Connect the male end of the metal wand to the vacuum body (Fig. 1). 2. Connect the female end of the metal wand to the floor brush (Fig. 2). Fig. 1 4. Attach the tool holder to the metal wand. How to Assemble and Operate the Vacuum Assembling and Storing the Power Cord 1. Pull the upper cord hook out and turn it to the upright position (Fig. 1). 2. Pull the lower cord out and turn it to the downward position (Fig. 1). 3. Wrap power cord loosely around upper and lower cord hooks. 4. Lock power cord plug onto the power cord. How to Assemble and Operate the Vacuum ON/OFF Switch To turn vacuum cleaner ON or OFF, press the ON/OFF switch on the handle (Fig. 1). How to Empty the Dust Cup Note: Always unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet before performing any service on the vacuum cleaner. How to Remove the Dust Cup from the Main Body 1. Press the wand release button and pull the wand away from the main body (Fig. 1). 2. Hold the dust cup over a trash container. 3. How to Replace the Filters Filter Identification This model has a primary filter and an exhaust filter that need to be cleaned and/or replaced on a regular basis. Primary Electrostatic Foam Filter Exhaust Filter When to Change the Filters At a minimum, it’s recommended to replace the filters after 6 months of use. If someone in your household is sensitive to airborne allergens, it is recommended to change the filters after every three months. How to Clean the Primary Filter 1.
How to Replace the Filters Wash the filter with cool water at least every three (3) months. How to Clean and Replace the Exhaust Filter 1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner. 2. Remove the wand by grasping the handle on the top of the main body. Press the wand release button (Fig. 1). 3. Press the two exhaust filter cover release buttons to remove the exhaust filter cover (Fig. 2). 4. Remove the foam filter and rinse with cool water. Allow to dry thoroughly before replacing it in the vacuum (Fig.
How to Remove the Brushroll Note: Always unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet before performing any service on the vacuum cleaner. 1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner. 2. Remove the floor brush from the wand. Turn the floor brush over (Fig. 1). 3. Use a coin or screwdriver to turn the screw (Fig. 2) once to the right. Then lift off the brushroll cover. Fig. 1 4. Remove the brushroll to clean (Fig. 3). 4. Replace the brushroll then replace the brushroll cover (Fig. 4).
How to Clean the Brushroll Note: Always unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet before performing any service on the vacuum cleaner. To maintain efficient cleaning, the brushroll must be kept free of carpet fiber, string, or hair buildup. After every 7 to 10 uses, unplug and turn the vacuum cleaner over and check the brushroll for fiber and hair buildup. Use scissors to remove any buildup entangled around the brushroll (Fig. 1). Fig.

How Long Coverage Lasts: Warranty coverage for the Carpet Pro vacuum lasts one year. Household models used commercially are only warranted for 90 days.
