E-box firmware update (Z2-FPGA)

AG501 E-Box

This description only applies to AG501-systems with the Z2-FPGA implemented in the E-Box.

AG501-systems with an installed Microblaze obtain firmware updates via the controlserver.

If in doubt, which update procedure applies to your system, please contact Carstens

Medizinelektronik.

Changing the SD-card of the Z2-FPGA

The firmware of the Z2-FPGA is stored on an SD-card mounted to the FPGA.

So to update the firmware the SD-card has to be updated or exchanged for an SD-card with the

desired firmware.

1. Turn off the E-Box and disconnect the power connector.

2. Screw off the cover of the E-Box (Figure 1 A).

3. Replace SD-card in slot with an SD-card containing the new firmware (Figure 2).

Make sure the SD-card sits tightly.

4. Close E-Box and tighten screws.

5. Reconnect E-Box and test system.
